Episode 17
Welcome back to Part 2 of our interview with Dr Lise Hestbaek and Dr Elise Hewitt.
Paediatric chiropractic has been centre-stage around the world in recent months, and no more so than in Australia. Our guests this episode are two of the leading experts in paediatric chiropractic and manual therapy in the paediatric population - Dr Lise Hestbaek and Dr Elise Hewitt.
Dr Hestbaek is an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark and senior researcher at the Nordic Institute of Chiropractic and Clinical Biomechanics. Her research focuses on lifetime epidemiology of musculoskeletal pain, especially back pain, with a primary interest in children and adolescents. Presently she is involved in RCTs investigating the effect of chiropractic treatment for infantile colic, manipulative therapy for LBP in adolescents and manipulative therapy for chronic headache in children.
Our other guest is Dr Elise Hewitt who is a board-certified pediatric chiropractor and one of the foremost authorities in the specialty of chiropractic paediatrics. Shas has spent her entire career advocating for the chiropractic care of children. She is a member of the prestigious NCMIC Speakers Bureau for which she covers all aspects of pediatric practice. Dr Hewitt served as President of the ACA Paediatrics Council for 10 years, currently serving as Immediate Past President. In addition to being Adjunct Faculty at UWS, she has taught at the post-graduate level for numerous chiropractic institutions and state/national associations throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Join us for the second part of our discussion where Dave Newell and Stephen Perle discuss the current state of paediatric chiropractic, what the implications are for the profession with the current review in Australia and how our guests see the future of this important aspect of chiropractic practice.
