On this episode, Robbie chats to Dr Kwabena Sarfo Sarfo-Kantankah, associate professor of English and dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Cape Coast.
Kwabena’s research interests include the critical analysis of political and parliamentary discourse, using methods from corpus linguistics, discourse analysis and pragmatics. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a PhD in English Language.
His recent publication “Gender-based violence in Ghanaian parliamentary discourse: A corpus-assisted discourse analysis” is available open-access from the journal Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis Across Disciplines.
The University of Cape Coast is the highest ranked university in Ghana and West Africa and a top 5 university in Africa (Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 2022).
