At roughly 3am on 9th December 1980, just four hours after John Lennon was assassinated, New York Chief of Detectives James T Sullivan, laid down some 'facts' regarding John Lennon's assassination in the basement of the 20th precinct police station.

Sullivan confirmed that Lennon collapsed in an 'office space at the rear of the area'. Sullivan also confirmed that Chapman had already been questioned by a prosecuting District Attorney.

This questioning occurred before Chapman had been given a lawyer to represent him. Sullivan confirmed that Chapman had been staying in New York for 'about a week'.

The official narrative would go on state that Chapman was in New York for 3 days prior to Lennon's assassination. Sullivan claimed that Chapman 'called out' to Lennon. Neither Ono, Chapman or concierge Jay Hastings said this happened.

At 09.35, Sullivan confirms that Lennon was 'inside the Vestibule area when he was struck'. He claimed that Lennon had 'seven wounds'. Three in the chest, two in the left arm and two in the back. Taking into account that Chapman could not see inside the vestibule and the alternative frontal wounds seen by doctors and nurses at the Roosevelt and the three low-down bullet holes in the vestibule glass doors - none of this makes any sense.
