Andrew Johnston is a business professor, performance coach, and ultramarathon runner. Among his achievements as a professor is the creation and development of a unique, life-changing course entitled “Change through Challenge.” As students train for the final exam, a 26.2 mile marathon, THEY MASTER KEY VIRTUES FOR LEADERSHIP AND LIFE: resilience, persistence, courage, and GRIT.

Andrew’s teaching and coaching skills are not confined to his work in higher education; he has coached hundreds of clients through career transitions as a former consultant for a global outplacement consulting firm and given numerous keynote addresses. In addition, he has twenty years of experience in private industry, including key roles in two business start-ups.

Andrew’s background in business and ultramarathon running allow him to bring a unique perspective to corporate and non-profit audiences and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to realize their dreams and see how the principles of completing a 50-mile race at 10,000 feet relate to their job or life.
