Hannah Goodwin, 3rd baseman from North Carolina State University is my guest on this episode. We get into recruiting, the transfer portal, and the changes she has seen in a short amount of time. We talk about the growth of the game and how much fun it is to work with the softball youth as we continue to spread the good word about the game.

High School / Prep Career

• Hit a record 13 home runs and achieved the records for most career home runs, RBI, and runs scored at her high school
• In 2018, won only 5A softball state championship in school history while ranked 16th nationally
• Four-time all-state selection while lettering six years as a varsity starter

2020 - Freshman Season (At Clemson)

• Started in 26 games at shortstop
• Led the team and was second in the ACC in batting average (.385)
• Second on the team and ninth in the ACC in on-base percentage (.448)
• Combined for nine extra-base hits, including five doubles and four home runs
• Recorded the program’s first home run, a game-winning three-run shot against St. John’s (Feb. 7)
• Delivered another game-winning home run in the top of the eighth in one of the only games that went to extra innings against Stetson (Feb. 22)
• Orchestrated a nine-game hitting streak (Feb. 22 – March 9) and an eight-game hitting streak (Feb. 12-21)
• Recorded at least one hit in 22 out of 26 games played

2021 - Sophomore Season (At Clemson)

• Missed the entirety of the season due to surgery
• Preseason All-ACC selection
• ACC Academic Honor Roll recipient

2022 - RS Sophomore Season (At Clemson)

• Appeared and started in one game at UNC (April 1)

Hannah Goodwin is a flat out STUD! She started 26 games at shortstop in 2020, leading the team and checking in at second in the ACC in batting average (.385). She additionally was second on the team and ninth in the conference in on-base percentage (.448).

The West Columbia, S.C., native hit the first home run in Clemson's program history on Feb. 7, 2020, sending in three runs to clinch a win over St. John's. She posted at least one hit in 22 of the 26 games she played in as a freshman. Goodwin sealed a victory for the Tigers with a home run in the top of the eighth inning against Stetson on Feb. 22, 2020.

During her freshman season, Goodwin strung together an eight-game hitting streak from Feb. 12-21, 2020 and followed it up with a nine-game hitting streak from Feb. 22-March 9, 2020. In that initial year with Clemson she combined for nine extra-base hits that included five doubles and four home runs.

Goodwin becomes the 12th member of the 2022 class, joining two fellow transfers as well as nine incoming freshmen.
