This episode is a special one! It was around this time last December that I turned off the lights in my 6th-grade classroom for the very last time. As a former teacher with a new career, I know there are a lot of mixed emotions when a teacher leaves the classroom, even when it’s something that is in alignment with what you want. Upon thinking about this moment, I thought that this would be the perfect time to reflect and share what I’ve learned as a former teacher as well as what I’m looking forward to as I think ahead to the coming new year and its fresh possibilities. I hope that the lessons I share with you from my time as a classroom teacher inspire you to reflect on your own journey with gratitude for how far you’ve come and all the becoming that is still yet to be.
