When COVID-19 changed the world overnight, speech therapy changed right along with it. In this episode of Not in the Visit Note, we take a trip back to those early pandemic days and share what it was really like to transition from therapy rooms filled with toys and face-to-face interaction to virtual sessions through a computer screen.

We discuss the challenges of learning teletherapy on the fly, keeping children engaged through a webcam, troubleshooting technology issues, and finding creative ways to provide effective therapy when everything felt uncertain. We also share some of the funny, frustrating, and unforgettable moments that came from providing speech therapy during one of the most unique periods in our profession.

Whether you were a therapist, parent, teacher, or student navigating those changes, this episode is a look back at how we adapted, persevered, and continued helping children communicate when the world came to a standstill.

No names. No facilities. Just validation, dark humor, and the stuff that never makes it into the visit note.
