The "EnVivo!" Podcast crew talk a big-time welterweight clash headlines Saturday night on DAZN.
Vergil Ortiz Jr. has been asking for a tough test. He gets his wish on Saturday night as he takes on former junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, live on DAZN in 200 countries worldwide.
The 22-year-old Ortiz has been like a buzzsaw in 16 fights, winning all of them via knockout. Not only does he get what he desired, he gets to do it 32 miles away from his hometown of Dallas.
"I'm very happy to be fighting in front of my friends, family, and fans back at home again," Ortiz said in a press release. "Dickies Arena is a perfect sized venue, and it looks like it will be able to hold a substantial number of fans, so everybody needs to come out and support all the fighters. I'm really hyped for this fight.”
