Rohit Sharma scored 127 in a classy innings and late fireworks from Rishabh Pant and another fifty from Thakur meant England needed 368 to win.
Burns and Hameed both passed fifty but the bowling performance of the test match went to Jasprit Bumrah who bowled Ollie Pope & Johnny Bairstow in a six over spell as India romped home
