Eddy began his music career in the 1960s as the leader of the Equals, a multiracial rock band that had a number of hits in the UK, including "Baby, Come Back," which topped the charts in 1968. In 1982, he released the album "Killer on the Rampage," which included the hit single "Electric Avenue." The song became a worldwide hit and reached the top ten in several countries, and along with Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean,” convinced television executives to play Black music. While “Electric Avenue” may be his most well known song in the U.S., he is no one-hit wonder. With hits like "I Don't Wanna Dance,” and "Gimme Hope Jo'anna", Eddy has inspired generations of music lovers around the world. Grant owns the rights to his music, and was the first artist to own his music, a significant achievement in the music industry.
