Former high school stand-out basketball player at Lewis-Cass high school (IN), former college, FIBA, and NBA coach, and the host of the Coach Scott Fields Show, Scott Fields hangs out in the #Lounge this week! The energy RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE was amazing!
Scott talks about how his love of basketball came to be, and where it has taken him! The conversation turns to the Indiana/Purdue rivalry and then to the reunification of Coach Knight at IU and what Scott thinks it meant to those who support the Hoosiers and saw Coach Knight in action while in Bloomington! Sam, the Lounge's Purdue fan, gives his thoughts about Coach Knight, and talks about the rivalry growing up!
Coach Fields shares a TON of thoughts on how coaches sometimes fall short in coaching their players to be better! There are things he did as a coach, that seemed to work, and things he did that would allow for the players to grow, and then become successful in their game as well as life!
Scott had a .800 winning percentage when he was coaching at the college level, won championships oversees and got to work with players like Steph Curry, Manu Ginobli, Carlos Arroyo, and other very successful NBA players, His insights are to-the-point
Scott shares some stories about his time overseas and some of the great people he's worked with, and some of the things he experienced are storybook-like! HE REALLY NEEDS TO WRITE A BOOK!
Matt throws some great questions about international work-ethic and asks why the big-name international players always seem to come to the NBA so well-rounded... Coach gives a GREAT answer!
Overall, the energy stayed high throughout the entire show, and the guys LOVED having the coach talking about basketball and life! They CERTAINLY want to have him back on in the future and talk more about his experiences!
