Guest Bio: Dr. Bonnie Zucker is a clinical psychologist located in Los Angeles, CA. She received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at UCLA, where she developed a specialty in the research, prevention, and treatment of anxiety disorders. A teacher, researcher, and clinician, Bonnie brings 25 years of experience with anxiety disorders to her mission of giving people tools and skills to diminish the negative impact of anxiety and panic attacks.While 3% of the population experiences panic disorder, which requires clinical interventions, at least 25% of the population will experience at least one panic attack in their lifetime. And…. in between those extremes are many variations and subclinical experiences with panic attacks. Iris and Whitney have dealt with them both in their athletic and corporate years. We sat down with Dr. Zucker to discuss these unwanted visitors to learn more about how to understand and respond to them.Untraining: You have to control anxiety and panic attacks and manage yourself to avoid them or get through them.
Training: Panic attacks are common, deeply uncomfortable experiences and by experimenting with different mental and physiological responses to them, we can often diminish their frequency and severity.
