It's a pity religion is one of the things that has made people prisoners. Freedom should be a thing of the mind, but our mindsets have been corrupted by human doctrines. As a Christian, 'Divorce' is not allowed except for the case of infidelity (Matt 5:32), but separation is TOTALLY allowed. People wouldn't leave abusive relationships because they are concerned about what people would say, where they'd start from and how people would judge them. I totally agree with the fact that the first step to breaking through an abusive marriage is talking to someone, but then this is dependent on the kind of person you tell, the society is so quick to judge people that sometimes you don't even feel like opening up to anyone. It's another thing to open up to someone and it's also another thing to get a good advice from the person you opened up to. I'm so sure there are people that would have advised osinachi to remain in the marriage as it was already her cross which she had to bear, those irritating things we hear like the Yoruba's would say "foriti" you don already enter am.
