Discussion between the Jean Monnet Chair prof. Ramūnas Vilpišauskas, Member of the European Parliament, former Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius and students of the Master’s degree programmes in European Studies and Public Policy Analysis on the role of the European Parliament in the EU political process.

The discussion was focused on the EP's relations with the other EU institutions and the EP's involvement in responding to emerging and ongoing crises, in particular Russia's war against Ukraine. The future of the EU was also highlighted during the discussion, with a particular focus on the enlargement of the Community and its relationship with the EU's institutional reforms.This discussion is a part of the project “Teaching, researching and debating contemporary European issues” (TRENDS). Jean Monnet Chair prof. Ramūno Vilpišausko, Europos Parlamento nario, buvusio Lietuvos Respublikos ministro pirmininko Andriaus Kubiliaus bei VU TSPMI Europos studijų ir Viešosios politikos analizės magistro programų studentų/–čių diskusija apie Europos parlamento vaidmenį ES politiniame procese. Diskusijos metu aptartas EP santykis su kitomis ES institucijomis bei EP dalyvavimas, reaguojant į kylančias ir besitęsiančias krizes, tarp kurių šiuo metu yra ir Rusijos karas prieš Ukrainą. Diskusijoje taip pat skirtas dėmesys ES ateities klausimams – bendrijos plėtrai ir ES institucinėms reformoms.

Diskusija yra projekto “Teaching, researching and debating contemporary European issues” (TRENDS) dalis, projektą (bendrai) finansavo Europos Sąjungos programa „Erasmus+.
