Deuteronomio 29: Mensaje para la generación actual y la futura.

Deuteronomio 29:10‭-‬19 RVA2015:
“Todos ustedes están hoy delante del SEÑOR su Dios: los jefes de sus tribus, sus ancianos, sus oficiales, todos los hombres de Israel, sus niños, sus mujeres y los forasteros que están en medio del campamento de ustedes, desde el que corta tu leña hasta el que saca tus aguas. Estás por entrar en el pacto del SEÑOR tu Dios, y en el compromiso solemne que el SEÑOR tu Dios hace hoy contigo, a fin de confirmarte hoy como pueblo suyo, y para que él sea tu Dios, como te ha prometido y como lo juró a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob. “No solo con ustedes hago yo este pacto y este compromiso solemne; ciertamente es con el que está aquí con nosotros hoy, delante del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, y también con aquel que no está aquí con nosotros hoy. Pues ustedes saben cómo habitábamos en la tierra de Egipto y cómo hemos pasado en medio de las naciones por las cuales han pasado. Ustedes han visto sus abominaciones y sus ídolos de madera y de piedra, de plata y de oro, que tienen entre ellos. No sea que haya entre ustedes hombre o mujer, familia o tribu, cuyo corazón se aparte hoy del SEÑOR nuestro Dios para ir a rendir culto a los dioses de aquellas naciones. No sea que haya entre ustedes una raíz que produzca una hierba venenosa y ajenjo, y que al oír las palabras de este compromiso solemne, se bendiga a sí mismo en su corazón, diciendo: ‘Yo tendré paz, aunque ande en la dureza de mi corazón’, de modo que arrase la tierra regada junto con la sedienta.

Este es un mensaje que Moisés resaltó con mucha importancia. Es un llamado a que el pueblo se prepare para recibir la bendición de la tierra prometida, pero debe poner en sus mentes y en sus corazones que todo esto proviene de Dios y no de sus propias fuerzas ni méritos.
Debían recordar de cómo sus antepasados salieron de Egipto, que nunca les faltó nada. ¡Moisés resaltó el grandioso milagro de que ni sus ropas ni sus calzados se desgastaron!
¡Dios ha sido su proveedor, protector y redentor!
Es por eso que el gran compromiso que Dios iba a hacer con ellos lo haría con los que estaban presentes y con la nueva generación que vendrían. Dios estaba incluyendo a la futura generación, a su descendencia, a sus hijos. Dios quería que ellos se comprometieran a serle fiel para que la bendición sea permanente y abundante, siempre y cuando ellos cumplieran su parte de no adoptar los dioses de Egipto ni la de los países de las tierras de Canaán.

Esto nos enseña que nuestro Dios es firme en sus promesas, que Él desea que afirmemos nuestro corazón en Él para que su bendición nunca nos falte; pues cuando nos alejamos de la maldad y no permitimos que costumbres pecaminosas nos desvíen de los caminos de Dios, nuestro Dios habita en medio de nuestro hogar trayendo paz, gozo, amor y fortaleza a cada uno de los miembros de la familia.
Además, lo que tú siembres, tus hijos lo cosecharán. Tu fidelidad a Dios hará que tus hijos disfruten de todo lo que Dios te haya permitido disfrutar.
Por eso Dios previene de que no permitamos que crezca alguna clase de mala intención por practicar cosas pecaminosas. Moisés lo comparó como una planta que produce fruto venenoso, que al verla se ve muy atractiva pero que al entrar al cuerpo produce muerte.

Al final de este capítulo, en el verso 29, leemos: “Las cosas secretas pertenecen al SEÑOR nuestro Dios, pero las reveladas son para nosotros y para nuestros hijos, para siempre, a fin de que cumplamos todas las palabras de esta ley."

¡Somos privilegiados de haber recibido esta revelación de que Jesucristo es Dios!
Tal vez tengamos muchas preguntas y habrán cosas que todavía son un misterio para la humanidad pero lo que ya ha sido revelado solamente lo podrán entender sus hijos.
Existen muchas cosas que son un misterio pero lo que sí estamos seguros es que Dios se hizo hombre para salvarnos, que Él es el único camino a la salvación y que Él nos ha adoptado como hijos para formar parte de la gran familia de Dios y de su reino celestial.
Cuidemos este llamamiento de Dios, no perdamos este privilegio de ser sus hijos y de tener al Señor en nuestras vidas, y evitar que su Espíritu Santo se contriste y se aleje de nosotros.

Por último, sigamos el consejo del apóstol Pedro en 1 Pedro 5:10: “Y cuando hayan padecido por un poco de tiempo, el Dios de toda gracia, quien los ha llamado a su eterna gloria en Cristo Jesús, él mismo los restaurará, los afirmará, los fortalecerá y los establecerá.”

Deuteronomy 29: Message for the current and future generation.

Deuteronomy 29:10-19:
“All of you stand today before the Lord your God: your leaders and your tribes and your elders and your officers, all the men of Israel, your little ones and your wives—also the stranger who is in your camp, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water— that you may enter into covenant with the Lord your God, and into His oath, which the Lord your God makes with you today, that He may establish you today as a people for Himself, and that He may be God to you, just as He has spoken to you, and just as He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
“I make this covenant and this oath, not with you alone, but with him who stands here with us today before the Lord our God, as well as with him who is not here with us today (for you know that we dwelt in the land of Egypt and that we came through the nations which you passed by, and you saw their abominations and their idols which were among them—wood and stone and silver and gold); so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood; and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’—as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.

This is a message that Moses highlighted with great importance. It is a call for the people to prepare to receive the blessing of the promised land, but they must put in their minds and hearts that all this comes from God and not from their own strength or merits.
They should remember how their ancestors left Egypt, that they never lacked for anything. Moses highlighted the great miracle that neither their clothes nor their shoes wore out!
God has been their provider, protector and redeemer!
That is why the great commitment that God was going to make with them would be with those who were present and with the new generation that would come. God was including the future generation, their offspring, their children. God wanted them to commit to being faithful to Him so that the blessing would be permanent and abundant, as long as they fulfilled their part of not adopting the gods of Egypt or that of the countries of the lands of Canaan.

This teaches us that our God is firm in His promises, that He wants us to affirm our hearts in Him so that His blessing never fails us; because when we move away from evil and do not allow sinful customs to divert us from God's ways, our God dwells in the midst of our home bringing peace, joy, love and strength to each of the family members.
Also, what you sow, your children will reap. Your fidelity to God will make your children enjoy everything that God has allowed you to enjoy.
That is why God warns us not to allow some kind of evil intention to grow by practicing sinful things. Moses compared it to a plant that produces poisonous fruit, which when seen looks very attractive but when it enters the body it produces death.

At the end of this chapter, in verse 29, we read: ““The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

We are privileged to have received this revelation that Jesus Christ is God!
Perhaps we have many questions and there will be things that are still a mystery to humanity but what has already been revealed can only be understood by His children.
There are many things that are a mystery but what we are sure of is that God became a man to save us, that He is the only way to salvation and that He has adopted us as children to be part of the great family of God and His heavenly kingdom.
Let's take care of this call from God, do not lose this privilege of being His children and of having the Lord in our lives, and prevent His Holy Spirit from getting sad and moving away from us.

Finally, let's follow the advice of the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 5:10: “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
