In this episode, Rahul Kumar and Stephen Hurley are joined by Dr. Cindy Hanson to discus approaches to decolonizing the work of Adult Education, including several pedagogical considerations: Story Work, place-based learning and developing epistemic solidarities.
Dr. Cindy Hanson is a Professor at the University of Regina, specializing in gender, intersectionality, Indigenous rights, and community-based research. She has lead 3 research projects funded by SSHRC, one on intergenerational learning in Indigenous textile arts, one focusing on Indian residential school compensations and a third, looking at transportation vulnerabilities in rural Canada. Dr. Hanson has held consultancies in over 15 countries and has published works like "Cracking Labour’s Glass Ceiling." She's a past-president of CASAE and has worked with various UN agencies.
