In this early entry into the Our Debt To Greece and Rome series, Rand provides a lively summary and commentary on all of Ovid's poetical works; the author then follows with Ovid's influence through later Latin writing, and later literature of Europe. The book is an invitation for modern readers to reacquaint themselves with Ovid and discover his later literary contributions. - Summary by Mark Harrington
