Afterwards, we will talk about how religion-based national identity came to the fore in the exchange process, where the prerequisite for Turkishness was to believe in Sunni Islam, while the prerequisite for Greekness was to believe in Orthodox Christianity. Finally, we will briefly describe the migration policies that both countries implemented for 100 years in order to remain loyal to religion-based national identity.
