When Chiquis’ mother – Mexican American banda star Jenni Rivera – died in a plane crash in 2012, Chiquis, then 27, became the matriarch of her family and stepped up as the eldest daughter to take care of her four siblings. It’s been over a decade since her mother’s death and Chiquis is a banda star in her own right.
