A changeling is a human-like creature which seems human, believed to be a fairy that is left in the place of a child, infant or adult, who was stolen by other fairies. In Irish legend, a changeling appears sickly and never grows like a normal child and has odd characteristics, like facial hair and long teeth. They are said to have intelligence beyond their years and unusual behaviors. Stories of parents who see changes family member still happen today.
