Bucket 1: The First Bucket

Zechariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” (NLT)

Devotional:

Every great journey starts somewhere often, it begins with a humble step, a small act of faith, or a simple willingness to start. Imagine the first bucket of water used in washing a car plain, basic, and unremarkable yet it’s essential. Without that first bucket, the rest of the process cannot happen. God reminds us not to despise small beginnings because He delights when we take that first step toward what He’s calling us to do. Whether you’re starting a new habit, a ministry, or a season of personal growth, God honors your willingness to begin. Small starts cultivate humility. They teach us to rely on God, learn patience, and embrace growth. Just as Jesus came into the world in a manger, humble and small, He shows us that greatness often comes wrapped in simplicity. Don’t get discouraged if your progress feels slow or your efforts seem insignificant. God sees every first bucket you carry and rejoices in your obedience.

Prayer:

God, thank You for new beginnings and for the grace to start where I am help me to trust You in every small step and to honor You with faithfulness. Amen
