Brian reflect on his last six weeks campaigning in the Mississauga Mayoralty by-election. He discusses debates, ugly campaign tactics, other candidates and the future of Mississauga.
I wanted to raise several crises and get them on the agenda, but I was surprised voters were not as concerned as I thought they would be:
- A housing crisis
- Tax increases 2 and 3 times inflation
- An affordability and red tape/regulation crisis
- A congestion, transit and transportation crisis
- A governance distraction while we have a lack of democracy
- A lack of vision and building of the soul of the City
- A safety and crime crisis
