In this episode we continue studying the book of Leviticus. In this episode the priests were given more rules regarding holiness and cleanness.

They were told not to profane the holy things by handling them when they were unclean, or they would be cut off.

They wouldn’t be cut off if they became unclean, they would be cut off if they tried to do the work unclean.

If they became unclean they simply had to become clean again by following God’s instructions.

They were also told not to bring maimed, lame, blind, bruised or crushed animals to the Lord as a sacrifice, because corruption was in them and the blemish was in them.

The sacrifices were to be perfect without blemish. They were supposed to represent Christ. He would be the Lamb God would sacrifice on the altar of the earth for the sins of his people. He would be without blemish or corruption.

God’s people wouldn’t be redeemed from the power of death, devils and the kingdom of darkness with a lame, maimed, blind offering. Jesus was perfect, he was sinless there was nothing corrupt in him.

Yet, we see that although God wouldn’t accept a blind, lame and maimed animal for an offering, because corruption was in it;

He would accept his people, although they were maimed by sin. And blinded by the powers of darkness, they were lame and couldn’t walk in righteousness.

Yet, he would accept them in this condition, because his son would make atonement for them and they would be healed of their blemishes and their corruption.

Jesus would die for God’s people to make atonement for their sins, he would heal their sin sick souls, and baptize them with his Holy Spirit so they could obey God's commandments, then they would become citizens of the kingdom of heaven.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus physically healed the maimed, he healed the lame, and opened blind eyes, and we know as in the natural, so did He in the spiritual.

Matthew chapter 15 verses 29 through 31 tells us that God was glorifed when Jesus healed the maimed, lame and the blind.

Here's the text:

Matthew 15:29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

Matthew 15:30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:

Matthew 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Multitudes sought Jesus for physical healing. Yet, many more were healed of their spirutal afflictions when they heard his teachgings. Once again they could see the glory of God in Israel because He gave them the words of life.
