In this episode we continue studying the book of Exodus. In this episode Moses is told to set up the tabernacle.

After setting up the tabernacle He is told to wash Aaron and his sons and clothe them with the holy garments.

This is a symbol of Christ washing believers and clothing them with righteousness.

He is the living word of God, who once told the disciples, they were clean through the word He spoke to them.

Here’s the text: John15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

After they were washed and clothed they were prepared to start serving in the tabernacle.

But before they could begin, Aaron and his sons had to wash their own hands and feet.

Although we have been washed, and clothed with righteousness, we must live right. Paul told Titus that some profess they know God but deny Him in works.

To deny means disclaim or contradict. Their lifestyles contradicted what they said they believed.

Jesus is more concerned about how we live, that is if we obey him are not, than what we say.

In Matthew chapter 15 verse 8, Jesus said, the people drew nigh unto him with their mouth and honored him with lips but their heart was far from Him. They heard the word and agreed with it but weren’t keeping it.

So He said, in Luke 11 verse 28, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Through the prophet Isaiah, God compelled his people to forsake their unrighteousness, so he could have mercy on them and pardon their sins.

Here's the text:

Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

James said, in chapter 4 verse 8, draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners and purify your hearts ye double minded.

A double mind will hinder our walk with God. A double mind is revealed by saying one thing and doing another.

We can’t profess Christ with our mouth and deny him with our deeds. If we do so, He will have to deny us before the father.

Here’s the text:

Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

AND

2 Timothy 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Jesus wants us to be cleansed by the word, so we can inherit eternal life.

Since our sins have been forgiven, and we've been promised, that once again we will have access to the tree of life, in the midst of paradise;

Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 7 verse 1 that since we have so many precious promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
