In this episode we continue studying the Book of Exodus. In this episode. God stirred up the heart of Bezaleel and Aholiab and all the wise men to build the sanctuary.

The people begin bringing the curtains, and all manner of work to furnish the tabernacle.

We notice there are 5 curtains on one side and 6 on the other. In the Old Testament, 5 represents favor, provision and protection God gives to those who are a part of His family.

In the book of Genesis we see that Joseph a type of Christ gave his brother Benjamin, 5 times more food than his other brothers.

He also gave him 5 changes of raiment but gave his other brothers 1. He provided for the others, but Benjamin had favor with Joseph because of their bloodline.

The number six represents works and judgment.

The people are told they have 6 days to labor. They had 6 days to do all their work but rest on the 7th day.

The 6 days of work, represents the days allotted to us, on earth, to do good or bad.

The people are also told to hold a feast of unleavened bread in which they would eat bread without leaven for 6 days.

And on the 7th day, they were to hold a solemn assembly. Solemn means, serious and sober marked with gravity and reverence.

The Solemn assembly is a picture of judgment day. Judgment day will be a serious and sober occasion.

Each person will stand alone before God, and He will review their work (how they lived their lives) and pay them for their work.

Leaven is a symbol of pride so God is telling the people they should seek to live without pride, because the pride of life leads to all manner of sin.

There were also 5 pillars in the tabernacle. Pillars are noted in Exodus chapter 24 verse 4 and are erected in honor of the 12 sons of Jacob.

Here’s the text:

Exodus 24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

And Paul notes in Galatians chapter 2 verse 9, that James, Cephas and John seemed to be pillars in the church.

Mounce says, pillar means, a column, used of persons of authority, influence, a support of the Church.

Jesus told the Pharisees, that the Old Testament scriptures pointed to him. They all in some way or another pointed to him and the rule of God’s kingdom on earth.

And Jesus is currently selecting kingdom officials for his administration.

Jesus told the disciples, in Matthew chapter 19 verse 28 that those who followed him in the Regeneration would judge the 12 tribes of Israel.

Thayer’s says regeneration means, the signal and glorious change of all things, in heaven and earth, for the better, that restoration of the primal and perfect condition of things which existed before the fall of our first parents, which the Jews looked for in connection with the advent of the Messiah, and which Christians expected in connection with the visible return of Jesus from heaven.

Here's the text:

Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

So in the regeneration Jesus placed the apostles over the 12 tribes of tribes of Israel.

The 12 apostles will judge the 12 tribes of Israel, because through Christ, the promised seed of Abraham, the church is the new Israel.

And due to the regeneration, those who follow Christ will be made pillars in the temple of God.

They will be leaders and rulers, in the kingdom of God, teaching those who make it into the kingdom by grace, they did not deny the Lord, yet, they knew not his ways.

As Jesus told the Pharisees, Publicans and Harlots would enter into the kingdom before they would. Because although they knew his ways, they did not obey him.

So Jesus encouraged believers to be overcomers, so they can be a pillars in the temple of God.

Once we become pillars, we will never have to worry about being separated from God. We will belong to him forever. This is the heritage of those who are partakers of the first resurrection.

The second death posses no threat to them. But those failing to be overcomers will be subject to a sobering day of judgment, and their eternal fate will be determined by a holy and righteous God. Who will pay them according to their works.

In Revelation chapter 3 verses 12 through 13, Jesus said, that whoever overcomes he will make a pillar in the temple of God.

Here’s the text:

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
