In this episode we continue studying the book of Exodus. In this episode, Moses is given instructions for the tabernacle. He is told to make 10 curtains of fine twined linen with blue, purple and scarlet fabric and embroidered cherubims.

The fine linen curtains, made of blue, purple and scarlet colors represent the bruised body of Christ. He would be beaten and bruised for the transgressions of his people. It would be by his sacrifice that their sins are forgiven and they are able to come into the presence of God.

Isaiah chapter 53 verses 5 and 10 says.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

We note that there were 10 curtains grouped into five. The number 10 has significant meaning and is mentioned throughout scripture. God would have spared Sodom if there were ten righteous people living in the land. Abraham sent 10 camels with his servant to find a bride for Isaac.

Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to be his wife after they dwelt in Canaan for 10 years. Laban changed Jacob’s wages 10 times. Jacob sent 10 of His sons to Egypt to buy corn. There are 10
commandments. The tithe is 10%.

Gideon took 10 men and destroyed his fathers idols. There were 10 virgins with 10 lamps. 5 maintained their wicks and kept oil in their lamps but 5 did not.

10 Servants were given 10 pounds and told to occupy, until their master returned. The one who refused to use his pounds, had it taken from him. And it was given to a good steward and he was given 10 cities to rule over.

10 lepers were healed but only one came back to thank Jesus. A woman had 10 coins and lost one, she cleaned the house from top to bottom until she found it. Jesus said, the church in Smyrna, would suffer tribulation for 10 days at the hands of those from the synagogue of Satan.

The beast in Revelation had 10 horns, which represents power. 10 disciples were offended when they heard that the mother of their two brethren (James and John) had asked to sit at Jesus' right hand and His left hand in His kingdom.

It looks like 10 refers to change in circumstances. Rebekahs circumstances were changed when the 10 camels arrived. Jacobs wages were changed 10 times, each time Laban changed his wages, God blessed the work of his hands and he became a rich man. Sodom was changed by a destroying angel.

Naomi’s circumstances were changed when Boaz went before the 10 elders of the city to redeem her property with the stipulation to marry Ruth and raise up seed unto her deceased husband.

The situation for the beast with 10 horns, in the book of Revelation will change, he would lose his power in the world because, the kingdoms of the world would become the kingdoms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

The 10 curtains represent redemption and the finished work of Christ, and the change He would bring into the world and in the lives of his people. Because the prince of the world would be cast out by the blood of the Lamb.

Jesus would change the old order of things on earth. Because of His death, mercy would be extended unto the sons of men, death would lose its power over God’s creation. And The wicked would no longer have dominion over the world but the righteous would.

We note the tabernacle curtains were made of four layers of curtains, from four different materials. Linen, goats hair, dyed rams skins and badger skins.

The linen curtains represents the body of Christ, they were topped with the curtains made of goats hair, which represents the sins of the people, on top of the curtains made of goat’s hair were the curtains made of dyed ram’s skins, which represents the blood of Christ and on top of those were the leather curtains which represents the protection and deliverance provided to the Israelites, because their sins were covered by the blood of God’s suffering servant.
