Okay so these chapters. Harry manages to get one over on Lord Raith, with a trick that's such a slow burn it's almost mean. Basically Harry doesn't need to beat Lord Raith, he just needs to weaken the vampire so completely that Lara can step in and totally enthrall him. Which she does. With relish.

Meanwhile, Thomas has to be disinherited because it's so widely known how much Lord Raith hates his son that it would be suspicious if he's allowed to stay at home, so Thomas is about to move in with Harry. For a downpayment on rent, he pays off Harry's debt to Kincaid. Which should take care of the rent for the next 60 or 70 years.

Meanwhile, some old shit is getting brought back up. Lashiel's sigil shows up on Harry's hand, He Who Walks Behind rears his ugly head, and Harry's fire magic seems to be turning into hellfire. What does it all mean?
