Bill and Susan first kissed on television on July 23, 1970 (their first kiss in real life too) and were married four years later on October 12th, 1974. This real-life couple had the pleasure of getting married a second time as “Doug and Julie,” on Days of Our Lives on October 1st, 1976. In 2005, they wrote the memorable memoir Like Sands Through the Hourglass. According to TV Guide, it is “the best book ever written about daytime television.” They also penned a historical novel about actors, (what else?), and are working on a sequel. These two actors are the recipients of Lifetime Achievement Emmy Awards for their over fifty years of work on Days of Our Live.
