He discusses what pain is from a neuroscience perspective, the differences between acute and chronic pain, how the brain creates the experience of pain, and how his neuroscience research was driven by his desire to find better clinical treatments for pain. Lorimer Moseley is a clinical neuroscientist, pain educator and clinician. He has written over 350 research articles and five books on pain science and management. He has won the IASPs Inaugural Clinical Science Prize & Australia’s most prestigious prize for Innovation in Health and Medical Research. He is currently Director of IIMPACT in Health at the University of South Australia, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health & Medical Sciences, Honorary Fellow of the Australian Faculty of Pain Medicine and an NHMRC Leadership Investigator.
