Unfortunately as so many people have learned the hard way, it turns out this approach is not at all conducive to well-being or longevity. Withdrawing from the workforce and being a productive member of society often translates to reduced mental function, depression, poor health, and even an early death. Please don’t ever stop working – whether you are being paid or volunteering!
