Having read the court documents, Launie was not a good witness and she lied to you about seeing the suspect leave the house - that was not in her statement or testimony at all. She saw a man three times. Once in a car close to the Doi murder scene on 14th May. Once on San Patricio Drive, on 28th May. The third time was on Joyce Nelson's street, but it wasn't on the day Nelson was killed - it was 5th July at 3am: The night Whitney Bennett was attacked. If the man she saw was Richard, then she gave him an alibi for Whitney Bennett. The survivor, Lilian Doi described her husband's killer as having light brown short hair, about 5'10". Not Richard. Dempster's testimony was so weak, it should have been thrown out of court.
