A THIN LINE

There’s a peace in being alone, that gentle calm,
Where silence wraps around me like a soft embrace.
In the quiet, I find comfort in my own company,
A refuge from the noise of the world outside.
But sometimes, that stillness turns sharp,
And the solitude I cherish begins to sting.

I feel the shift, When being alone becomes something else,
A longing that creeps in, uninvited and cold.

But the thought feels distant, almost forgotten.

Unsure if I want to open myself to others once more.
For the comfort of solitude is steady and safe,
While the unknown of companionship feels fragile and uncertain.
