I’m sure part of you is wondering why I’m doing an episode about teenage boys. What makes me the authority?
That’s fair. I can respect that.
I decided to record an episode about teenage boys because I read a book about the emotional development of boys. It was a very enlightening book, one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Because I learned so much, I decided to share some thoughts with you.

This episode is dedicated to the young men I spent time with at FSY.
P.S. I would like to clarify that the reason I love the quote about it being nearly impossible to get over clinical depression without help is because it feels very validating to me. It is not about “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.” It’s about getting the support and care you need in order to heal. I think “help” can be defined in many different ways. Essentially, I think it means to get better all by yourself and without support is nearly impossible. Simply put, we need one another. So let’s reach out and support. Let’s jump in the trenches. Let’s love as the Savior does.
