A strategy to use when your attention and efforts are spread too thin
- Choose 3: Diet, Exercise, Family/Home Life, Career/School, Social Relationships, Self-Care/Personal Growth
- This isn’t necessarily about priorities or values
- It’s about what needs your active attention and energy or focus, don’t count things that are on “auto-pilot” or are already a routine
- 3 areas at once can even be a lot for certain people (like me) to focus on, especially when behavior change is involved
- Sometimes you’re trying to focus on too many changes in one area, or too many “subcategories” at once
- Listen to the examples of subcategories that can complicate things.
- Try Choose 3 yourself, weekly is a great idea. Takes 5 minutes!
- Or try to make your own Choose 3, but keep the selections limited to 6 areas like my version.
