Pronti a lanciare # per i Black Lives Matter negli Stati Uniti ma inspiegabilmente ciechi davanti alle forme di razzismo sistemico perpetrate in Italia.

Anche in Italia si parla di Black Lives Matter. Quel movimento nato negli Stati Uniti per rivendicare il diritto alla vita degli afroamericani che sono vittime di un razzismo sistemico da parte delle istituzioni degli Stati Uniti, soprattutto da parte molto evidente quello perpetrato da parte delle forze dell'ordine. Lo avete visto anche voi, se seguite un po' i giornali e le notizie internazionali, quasi ogni giorno qualcuno viene ammazzato. Immotivatamente e in modo anche molto molto plateale, ripreso dai cellulari. Quello che mi fa riflettere è il modo in cui Black Lives Matter viene percepito in Italia. L'Italia come nazione ha delle radici diverse da quelle degli Stati Uniti. Diciamo che se volessimo fare un parallelo, molto alla lontana, potremmo dire che è lo stato italiano è stato fondato sulle disuguaglianze tra nord e sud, però che facevano comunque, appartenevano comunque alla stessa alla stessa radice sociale culturale, più o meno. E c'è stato un momento all'inizio dello scorso secolo quando l'Italia si è messa in testa di avere delle velleità coloniali e quindi si è fatta le sue colonie, e le ripercussioni le vediamo ancora oggi, perché l'Italia si è fatta portatrice di politiche di aggressione, di sfruttamento e di miserie nei paesi del nord dell'Africa, in alcuni paesi del nord dell'Africa, e le ripercussioni economiche e sociali li vediamo ancora oggi. Ma quello che mi colpisce è l'atteggiamento di molti italiani rispetto appunto a Black Lives Methods che viene osannato come movimento, giustamente, di rivalsa e di giustizia sociale quando avviene negli Stati Uniti, però sono spesso anche le stesse persone che qui a casa loro non vedono l'ironia del fatto che i nostri Black Lives Matters quelli che muoiono magari sul campo di pomodori gli emigrati che costretti a lavorare ore pazzesche sotto il sole che poi muoiono sfiniti, come è successo qualche giorno fa, raccogliendo pomodori e quando non si vede l'ironia - e sto mettendo ironia molto tra virgolette - del fatto che anche noi abbiamo i nostri Black Lives qui in Italia che però quelli non sono Black Lives quelli non meritano hashtag e quelli non meritano alzate di scudi perché, perché quelli invece sono quelli che vediamo ai semafori e quelli ai quali diamo del tu e quelli ai quali non riconosciamo nessun tipo di dignità umana. Diciamo che siamo un po ciechi color blind.

In Italy too people talk about Black Lives Matter, that movement born in the US to claim the right to life of African Americans who are victims of a systemic racism by US institutions, especially by the very evident one perpetrated by the police. What makes me wonder is the way in which BLM is perceived in Italy. Italy as a nation has different roots from those of the US. Let's say that if we wanted to make a parallel, very distantly, we could say that the Italian state was founded on the inequalities between north and south, but that they did anyway, they still belonged to the same cultural social root, more or less. And there was a moment at the beginning of the last century when Italy got the idea to have colonial ambitions and therefore made its own colonies, and the repercussions we still see today, because Italy was the bearer of policies of aggression, exploitation and misery in the countries of North Africa, in some countries of North Africa, and we still see the economic and social consequences today. But what strikes me is the attitude of many Italians with respect to BLM which is, rightly so, hailed as a movement of revenge and social justice when it happens in the US, but they are also often the same people here at home do not see the irony of the fact that we have our own BLM, that is those who die on the tomato fields, the migrants forced to work inhumane hours under the sun, those who then die exhausted, as just happened a few days ago, picking tomatoes.
