Invitare gente da tutto il mondo a manipolare e reinventare suoni provenienti da tutto il mondo. Questo è quello che fa Cities and Memory, e io accolgo spesso gli inviti dell'ideatore del progetto, Stuart Fowkes. L'ho fatto anche in occasione dell'anniversario dantesco quando Cities and Memory ha chiesto che si interpretasse l'inferno di Dante. Io ho scelto il mio personaggio preferito, Ulisse, e ho raccontato la sua storia partendo però da un punto di vista inedito.

Oggi vi voglio parlare di Cities and Memory, città e memoria, che è questo progetto di un folle, mi scuserai se ti chiamo così, Stuart Fowkes, che è questa persona che chiamo folle perché oltre ad avere un lavoro che lo occupa tutto il giorno, mette una quantità pazzesca di tempo, di energia e di entusiasmo in questo suo progetto che è appunto Cities and Memory dove lui di volta in volta chiede alle persone in giro per il mondo di fargli pervenire dei suoni che poi invita artisti, podcaster o semplicemente persone interessate, a mixare e inventare storie e modificare il loro significato originario. In occasione dell'anniversario di Dante Alighieri, mi pare che il settecentocinquantesimo anniversario di Dante Alighieri, ha pensato di fare un'opera omnia chiedendo appunto ad artisti, podcaster di ri-immaginare i gironi dell'Inferno e a ciascuno è stato chiesto di scegliere un girone particolare e poi di creare un'opera che rappresenta, un'opera audio che rappresentasse quel particolare luogo dell'Inferno. Io mi ci sono buttata a pesce e ho scelto quello che è sempre stato il mio eroe, Ulisse, e ho scelto però di raccontare la storia di Ulisse dal punto di vista di uno dei suoi marinai, o meglio da una marinaia che si è travestita da uomo per poter seguire Ulisse nelle sue avventure, perché lei è innamorata di Ulisse, infatti da qui anche il titolo del mio pezzo, I love you Odysseus, quindi in parte perché è innamorata di Ulisse, e in parte perché è innamorata dell'avventura e io mi sono immaginata questa questa ragazza che l'unico modo per lei di poter andare a fare le avventure, a vedere i luoghi sconosciuti, a combattere, a scoprire in queste situazioni molto pericolose sarebbe stato quello di travestirsi da uomo per poter quindi seguire la truppa, la ciurma di Ulisse e poi lei naturalmente è anche segretamente innamorata di Ulisse. Il mio è solo uno dei numerosissimi audio che sono stati poi commissionati, da un certo punto di vista, poi scelti e inseriti in questo progetto molto bello, affascinante. I threw myself into it and chose the one who has always been my hero, Odysseus, and I chose, however, to tell the story of Odysseus from the point of view of one of his sailors, or rather a sailoress who disguised herself as a man to be able to follow Odysseus in his adventures, because she is in love with Odysseus, in fact, hence the title of my piece, I love you Odysseus, so partly because she is in love with Odysseus, and partly because she is in love with the adventure, and I imagined this girl and the only way for her to be able to go on adventures, to see unknown places, to fight, to discover, in these very dangerous situations would be to dress up as a man to be able to follow the troop, the crew of Odysseus and then of course she is also secretly in love with Odysseus.
