Sto pensando all'oscurità. Da qualche tempo ho cominciato a riflettere sul buio, sulla luce e sulle cose che stanno a metà strada tra buio e luce. Ho sempre avuto un interesse ad esempio per le nazioni che stanno nel nord del mondo. Ultimamente, complice anche Netflix, mi sono fatta una scorpacciata di serie ambientate in Islanda o in altri paesi del nord. Ma sto veramente riflettendo su quelle che sono le manifestazioni più che della luce, del buio della mancanza di luce. Ho cominciato a pensare a quelle che sono le cose che hanno bisogno dell'oscurità per poter funzionare. Sto facendo questa piccola ricerca nel modo che io conosco meglio, cioè attraverso il suono attraverso i podcast, infatti ho finito da poco un podcast dove racconto un gioco che facevo da bambina al buio o in penombra. Sì mi sono quindi messa a cercare e a pensare quali sono le cose che hanno bisogno dell'oscurità. La prima cosa che mi è venuta in mente è una cosa, penso che sia tipicamente sarda ma che si trovi anche in altre regioni, che è una cosa che non mi ricordo il nome in sardo però si fa crescere il grano sotto il letto, sapete i vecchi letti quelli alti con le reti, e si fa crescere al buio sotto il letto appunto perché deve crescere al buio, perché deve crescere bianco e poi questo grano bianco viene usato non mi ricordo più in quale rito, comunque è una cosa religiosa dove bisogna avere il grano bianco, penso che bianco qui serva a rappresentare la purezza. Altre cose che si fanno al buio, la prima che mi è venuta in mente è il caricamento della pellicola nella piccola tanica per lo sviluppo della pellicola. Vi ricordate, quando esistevano ancora le macchine fotografiche con la pellicola che, mentre per stampare le foto si usa una luce rossa, però lo sviluppo della pellicola deve essere fatto nel buio più totale. Io mi ricordo che quando fotografava avevo imparato a farlo come una specie di manicotto che infilavo le mani a destra e sinistra, era di panno nero molto pesante, e facevo le operazioni alla cieca, un po' come quando fanno vedere i killer i sicari che riescono a smontare la pistola e rimetterla insieme ad occhi chiusi. Altre cose che si fanno al buio, se vi vengono in mente fatemelo sapere perché, ripeto sono alla ricerca di cose che hanno bisogno dell'oscurità.

I am thinking of the dark. For some time now, I have begun to reflect about darkness, light and things that are halfway between dark and light. I have always had an interest, for example, in the nations that are in the north of the world. Lately, also thanks to Netflix, I made a feast of series set in Iceland or in other northern countries. Well, I am really reflecting on what are the manifestations of the lack of light rather than of light. I began to think about what are the things that need darkness to thrive. I am doing this little research as I know best, that is, through sound, through podcasts, as a matter of fact I have recently finished a podcast where I tell about a game I used to play as a child in the dark or in dim light. Yes, I have started looking and thinking about what are the things that require darkness. The first thing that came to my mind is one thing, I think it is typically Sardinian but can be also found in other regions, which is something that I don't remember the name in Sardinian but it’s about growing wheat under the bed, you know those old beds, the tall ones with metallic mesh, and the wheat grows in the dark under the bed precisely because it must grow in the dark, because it must grow white and then this white wheat is used, I no longer remember in which ritual, however it is something religious where you have to have white wheat, I think white here serves to represent purity. Other things that are done in the dark, the first that came to mind is loading the film into the small development tank. Do you remember, when there were still cameras with film? While a red light was used to print photos, the development of the film had to be done in total darkness. I remember when I used to take photographs, I had learned to perform it with a kind of muff that I put my hands on left and right, it consisted of a very heavy black cloth, and I used to perform the operations blindly, and I used to perform the operations blindly, a bit like when they show killers, hit-men who manage to take apart the gun and put it back together with their eyes closed.
