La vigilia della notte di S. Giovanni raccogli i fiori e mettili a bagno in un recipiente pieno d'acqua, lascia fuori il recipiente perché raccolga la rugiada notturna. La mattina dopo, usa l'acqua per lavarti le mani e il viso. Questo ti purificherà il corpo e lo spirito. Riti pagani e dove trovarli.

La notte scorsa per la prima volta ho preparato l'acqua di San Giovanni. È un'antichissima tradizione di cui io avevo sentito parlare ma non l'avevo mai messa messa in pratica poi, anche complice le chiacchierate fatte nei giorni scorsi con le amiche e gli amici, ieri notte ho deciso di preparare l'acqua di San Giovanni. Di cosa si tratta? Allora, la vigilia della notte di San Giovanni (quindi il 23 giugno) bisogna prendere un recipiente con l'acqua e metterci dentro dei fiori, fiori che possono essere i fiori che si trovano, anche i fiori che si hanno sul balcone, oppure si può andare a raccoglierli nei campi, cercando di non distruggere le aiuole, e poi si prendono i fiori e si mettono dentro questo catino con l'acqua che bisogna lasciare fuori tutta la notte perché così l'acqua raccolga, l'acqua coi fiori, raccolga la rugiada notturna, e poi la mattina si usa quest'acqua per lavarsi il viso e per lavarsi le mani e dovrebbe essere una cosa propiziatrice di buon augurio o comunque un modo per salutare l'inizio della stagione estiva. Io l'ho fatta con molta molta trepidazione, devo dire perché mi piacciono i riti anche se ne conosco molto pochi, più che altro li conosco per sentito dire perché riti no non se ne facevano tantissimi nella mia famiglia, non di questo tipo, nonostante mia mamma abbia origini contadine e quindi conosca tutta una serie di riti che sono sicura quando era bambina venivano eseguiti religiosamente. Allora adesso io mi sono appena svegliata lo sentite anche dalla voce, ancora non ho fatto nemmeno colazione. Quindi tra un po andrò sul balcone, mi sono messa per l'occasione il kimono a fiori, la mattina quando mi alzo non uso vestaglie uso una seire di kimoni, poi magari un giorno vi racconto dove li ho presi, le avventure del loro acquisto. Col mio kimono a fiori adesso andrò a sciacquarmi il viso e le mani, a fare le abluzioni con questa meravigliosa acqua di San Giovanni che tra l'altro ieri era bellissima contro un cielo cielo nero con questa strepitosa luna piena. Last night for the first time I prepared St. John's water. It is an ancient tradition that I had heard of but had never put it into practice. Well now, also thanks to the recent talks with friends, last night I decided to prepare the water of San Giovanni. What is it about? Well, on the eve of St. John's night (that is June 23) you take a container with water and put some flowers in it, flowers that can be whatever flowers you find, even the flowers that you have on the balcony, or you can go and collect them in the fields, trying not to destroy the flower beds, so take the flowers and put them into a basin with water, that must be left out all night so that the water collects, the water with the flowers, collects the night dew, and then in the morning use this water to wash your face and to wash your hands and it should be a propitious thing of good omen or in any case a way to greet the beginning of the summer season. I did it with a lot of trepidation, I must say, because I like rites even if I know very few of them, more than anything else I know them by hearsay because no rites were made in my family, not of this type, despite my mother having peasant origins and therefore knowing a whole series of rites that I am sure when she was a child were performed religiously. So now I have just woken up, you can hear it also from my voice, I haven't even had breakfast yet. In a while I'll go to the balcony, I put on the flowered kimono for the occasion, in the morning when I get up I don't use dressing gowns I use a set of kimonos, maybe one day I'll tell you where I got them, the adventures of their purchase. With my floral kimono now I'm going to rinse my face and hands, to do the ablutions with this wonderful water of San Giovanni which, by the way, was beautiful yesterday against a black sky with this amazing full moon.
