At age seven, Ella Casano was diagnosed with a rare medical condition that requires regular IV treatments. In response to a competition at school, she wanted to solve a problem that was unique to her. In the process of doing that, she created a product called the Medi-Teddy which is now patented, in-process of being produced, and will soon be in medical facilities around the world with the sole purpose of making IV treatments a bit less scary for kids.

In this chat with Ella and her mom, Meg, we discuss how Ella came up with the idea for the Medi-Teddy, the process of designing and launching the product, and the overall goal of helping a medical process feel less scary for kids.
