In the workplace where I worked for a time as a technological process analyst in a telecommunications company, I managed the metrics of 20 people in terms of calls to corporate users from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm and there was a colleague who performed the same functions as me but had a health problem due to her pregnancy and from that moment on her functions were not fully covered by the rest of the staff who also managed the same corporate accounts. The company manager spoke with me and I wonder if I would be able to take on at least 10 people from my colleague who was going through a rather complicated issue and that obviously my effort would be remunerated, but that I had to spend more time working like this for at least a period of 3 months while they found a person who had the capacity to handle the position.
At that moment I felt bad for my colleague and I had to be flexible and understand the situation, but at the same time it was very good to test myself and show myself that if I could do it, also that the manager saw my effort and my commitment to the company.
In this way, I thought that if I did not do it, I was being partly like the rest of the people and this in the end had a positive change since it helped me a lot because after those 3 months I was promoted in my position and my salary changed from positive way with more responsibilities but only worked 4 hours from Monday to Friday.
