Facing better-known and better-financed opponents, Pete Buttigieg knew he would struggle to attract black voters in South Carolina. On Saturday his efforts came up empty. Tom Steyer, a billionaire businessman running for president, has lavished money on the black community — employing black-owned businesses, hiring African-Americans for his staff and buying ads with black-owned news organizations.NPR
In addition to electability in the general election, the Morning Consult also showed that Sanders overtook Biden with black voters nationally for the first time.
Thirty-three percent of black voters said they are backing Sanders, while 29% said they would back Biden. USA Today
