In 2008, Jennifer & Sarah Hart became proud adoptive parents to six beautiful, young children. A decade later, in 2018, they would all die horrifically at the bottom of a cliff along the Pacific Coast Highway. Not all of them were victims, though.
The family first came to public attention in 2014 at the Portland, OR protest against the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO when an image of 12 year old Devonte Hart went viral. The image sparked a national debate over white parents raising Black children. The Harts, however, would reclaim their privacy. Four years later, the Harts would be dead and the truth about the family would spark another debate over what really happened in the Hart household to cause the implosion of a picture perfect family.
