It is Day 7 of the 12 Days of Riskmas and, today, I am bringing an epic tale of the Powder Monkeys.

No, not the Australian Rock Band (but you should probably check them out). Powder monkeys were young boys (and occasionally girls) who served on warships from the mid 16th to 19th centuries.

The tale of the Powder Monkeys is proof that risk is a game anyone can play. These kids worked hard, took on threat, chased opportunity, and, in some instances, changed the course of history with their bravery.
