1 Samuel 29: No evadas el propósito de Dios en tu vida y la de tu familia.

1 Samuel 29:3-11:
Entonces los jefes de los filisteos preguntaron: —¿Qué hacen aquí estos hebreos?
Aquis respondió a los jefes de los filisteos: —¿No es este David, siervo de Saúl rey de Israel, que ha estado conmigo por días y por años, y en quien no he hallado nada malo desde el día en que se pasó a mí, hasta el día de hoy?
Pero los jefes de los filisteos se enojaron contra él y le dijeron: —Haz volver a ese hombre. Que se vuelva al lugar que le señalaste y que no venga con nosotros a la batalla, no sea que en la batalla se vuelva nuestro enemigo. Porque, ¿con qué cosa ganaría mejor el favor de su señor que con las cabezas de estos hombres? ¿No es este David, de quien cantaban con danzas diciendo: “Saúl derrotó a sus miles, y David a sus diez miles”?
Entonces Aquis llamó a David y le dijo: —¡Vive el SEÑOR, que tú has sido recto! Me ha parecido bien tu salir y tu entrar en el ejército conmigo, pues ninguna cosa mala he hallado en ti desde el día que viniste a mí, hasta el día de hoy. Pero a los ojos de los gobernantes tú no eres grato. Ahora pues, vuelve y vete en paz, para no desagradar a los gobernantes de los filisteos.
David preguntó a Aquis: —Pero, ¿qué he hecho? ¿Qué has hallado en tu siervo, desde el día que vine a estar contigo hasta el día de hoy, para que yo no vaya y luche contra los enemigos de mi señor el rey?
Aquis respondió y dijo a David: —Yo sé que tú eres grato a mis ojos, como un ángel de Dios. Pero los jefes de los filisteos han dicho: “Que él no vaya a la batalla con nosotros”. Levántate, pues, muy de mañana, tú y los siervos de tu señor que han venido contigo. Y levantándose muy de mañana, partan al amanecer. Entonces David y sus hombres se levantaron muy de mañana para irse y regresar a la tierra de los filisteos, y los filisteos subieron a Jezreel.

Mientras que Saúl temblaba de miedo, David se encontraba en una situación difícil, pues debía ayudar a los filisteos, y pelear contra sus propios hermanos, los israelitas.
David había asumido este compromiso para refugiarse en Filistea cuando intentaba esconderse de Saúl, y esto le trajo otros problemas. David había estado actuando falsamente, haciendo creer al rey Aquis que David estaba atacando a los israelitas cuando realmente estaba atacando ciudades de los mismos filisteos. ¡David era el ungido de Dios para ser rey de Israel pero estaba habitando con los adversarios de Israel!
Cuando los filisteos prepararon una gran batalla contra Israel, David salió a pelear contra su propio pueblo y el rey pensó que esa era una buena idea, pero los demás generales pensaron que era una locura porque ellos conocían la fama de David y sus grandes hazañas.
Aquí podemos ver que cuando tú eres escogido por Dios y tratas de esconder tu identidad y llamado, es ahí cuando comienzan a ocurrir momentos incómodos en nuestras vidas.
Jonás experimentó tormentas, huracanes y hasta vivió por varios días dentro de un pez gigante que se lo tragó, esto lo hizo Dios para que Jonás reconociera que estaba equivocado al esconder y rechazar el llamado de Dios.
Pedro sufrió vergüenza y remordimiento al negar al Señor y su identidad como uno de los seguidores del Señor.
David tuvo un año y unos meses de relativa paz, pero viviendo una doble vida y engañando al rey. Creo que David, al final, no pudo disfrutar de su estadía con los filisteos, solo bastaba que uno de ellos descubriera sus acciones para que fuera enjuiciado y destruido. Además, al verse al frente de su propio pueblo, el que algún día reinaría, lo habría puesto nervioso.
Una vez más, Dios lo salvó y lo regresó a casa, evitando que David confrontara a su mismo pueblo, pero mañana aprenderemos que esto le trajo tristes consecuencias y una dolorosa experiencia en su vida.

Sé que Dios ama a sus hijos. Si realmente te consideras hijo de Dios y tu familia está dedicada a Dios, tengamos en cuenta que Dios continuará su obra en nosotros, y por cumplir ese propósito va a cerrarnos puertas que queremos que se abran, va a permitir momentos embarazosos, incómodos y hasta espantosos para hacernos entrar en razón y volvamos al camino donde Dios nos quiere llevar. Seamos sensibles cuando Dios quiere guiarnos y, si en algún momento nos salimos de su voluntad, seamos agradecidos cuando Dios nos corrija y nos muestre el error. Que no seamos parte de las estadísticas de aquellos que fracasaron completamente y sus hogares se destruyeron porque rehusaron el llamado de Dios. Aunque uno de los miembros de tu familia se desvíe del camino, ten fe y reclama su vida ante Dios todos los días, orando sin cesar y sin desmayar hasta que veas su vida siendo retomada en las manos de Dios como un instrumento preciso para cumplir el plan de Dios.

1 Samuel 29: Do not evade God's purpose in your life and that of your family.

1 Samuel 29:3-11:
Then the princes of the Philistines said, “What are these Hebrews doing here?” And Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Is this not David, the servant of Saul king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or these years? And to this day I have found no fault in him since he defected to me.”
But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; so the princes of the Philistines said to him, “Make this fellow return, that he may go back to the place which you have appointed for him, and do not let him go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become our adversary. For with what could he reconcile himself to his master, if not with the heads of these men? Is this not David, of whom they sang to one another in dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”
Then Achish called David and said to him, “Surely, as the Lord lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight. For to this day I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me. Nevertheless the lords do not favor you. Therefore return now, and go in peace, that you may not displease the lords of the Philistines.” So David said to Achish, “But what have I done? And to this day what have you found in your servant as long as I have been with you, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”
Then Achish answered and said to David, “I know that you are as good in my sight as an angel of God; nevertheless the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’ Now therefore, rise early in the morning with your master’s servants who have come with you. And as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart.” So David and his men rose early to depart in the morning, to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

While Saul trembled with fear, David was in a difficult situation, because he had to help the Philistines, and fight against his own brothers, the Israelites.
David had made this commitment to take refuge in Philistia when he tried to hide from Saul, and this brought him other problems. David had been acting falsely, making king Achish believe that David was attacking the Israelites when he was actually attacking cities of the same Philistines. David was God's anointed to be king of Israel but he was dwelling with Israel's adversaries!
When the Philistines prepared a great battle against Israel, David went out to fight against his own people and the king thought that this was a good idea, but the other generals thought it was crazy because they knew David's fame and his great feats.
Here we can see that when you are chosen by God and try to hide your identity and calling, that is when awkward moments begin to occur in our lives.
Jonah experienced storms, hurricanes and even lived for several days inside a giant fish that swallowed him. God did this so that Jonah would recognize that he was wrong to hide and reject God's call.
Peter suffered shame and remorse for denying the Lord and his identity as one of the Lord's followers.
David had a year and a few months of relative peace, but living a double life and deceiving the king. I believe that David, in the end, could not enjoy his stay with the Philistines, it was enough for one of them to discover his actions for him to be prosecuted and destroyed. Besides, facing his own people, who would one day rule, would have made him nervous.
Once again, God saved him and returned him home, preventing David from confronting his own people, but tomorrow we will learn that this brought him sad consequences and a painful experience in his life.

I know that God loves his children. If you really consider yourself a child of God and your family is dedicated to God, let's keep in mind that God will continue His work in us, and to fulfill that purpose He will close doors that we want to open, He will allow embarrassing, uncomfortable moments and even terrifying to make us come to our senses and return to the path where God wants to take us. Let's be sensitive when God wants to guide us and, if at any time we get out of His will, let's be grateful when God corrects us and shows us the error. Let us not be part of the statistics of those who completely failed and had their homes destroyed because they refused God's call. Even if one of your family members strays from the path, have faith and claim his/her life before God every day, praying without ceasing and without fainting until you see his/her life being resumed in the hands of God as a precise instrument to fulfill God's plan.
