La causa de la decadencia moral y espiritual de Salomón.

1 Reyes 11:1‭-‬10‭ RVA2015:
Pero el rey Salomón amó, además de la hija del faraón, a muchas otras mujeres extranjeras: moabitas, amonitas, edomitas, sidonias y heteas; de los pueblos de los que el SEÑOR había dicho a los hijos de Israel: “No se unan a ellos ni ellos se unan a ustedes, no sea que hagan desviar sus corazones tras sus dioses”. A estas Salomón se apegó con amor. Tuvo setecientas mujeres reinas y trescientas concubinas. Y sus mujeres hicieron que se desviara su corazón. Y sucedió que cuando Salomón era ya anciano, sus mujeres hicieron que su corazón se desviara tras otros dioses. Su corazón no fue íntegro para con el SEÑOR su Dios, como el corazón de su padre David. Porque Salomón siguió a Astarte, diosa de los sidonios, y a Moloc, ídolo detestable de los amonitas. Salomón hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR y no siguió plenamente al SEÑOR como su padre David. Entonces Salomón edificó un lugar alto a Quemós, ídolo detestable de Moab, en el monte que está frente a Jerusalén, y a Moloc, ídolo detestable de los hijos de Amón. Y así hizo para todas sus mujeres extranjeras, las cuales quemaban incienso y ofrecían sacrificios a sus dioses. El SEÑOR se indignó contra Salomón, porque su corazón se había desviado del SEÑOR Dios de Israel, que se le había aparecido dos veces y le había mandado acerca de esto, que no siguiera a otros dioses. Pero él no guardó lo que el SEÑOR le había mandado.

¿Cuál fue la causa de la desviación del hombre más sabio del mundo? La causa fue amar a las personas equivocadas.
Salomón se enalteció demasiado, y para seguir aumentando su poderío e influencia sobre los pueblos vecinos se enamoró de mujeres importantes de la región. Realmente él no necesitaba esto pero sus emociones lo engañaban. Salomón era visitado por hombres y mujeres importantes y muchas de ellas se convirtieron en sus esposas y concubinas. Ellas traían sus dioses paganos y convencieron a Salomón a edificar templos a sus dioses, pervirtiendo la tierra heredada por Dios y quebrantando la ley de Dios, permitiendo que esas mujeres hicieran sacrificios abominables a sus dioses. Algunos de estos dioses, como Moloc, incluían el sacrificio de humanos, especialmente de niños.
Esto no era nuevo ni sorprendente que sucediera, pues Dios mismo lo había advertido desde que le dio la ley a Moisés, especialmente cuando le dio los estatutos y decretos a seguir. En las normas y reglamentos para el que fuera rey de Israel estaba escrito que no tomara muchas mujeres porque los iba a hacer desviar del camino recto. Deuteronomio 17:17 dice: “Tampoco acumulará para sí mujeres, no sea que se desvíe su corazón. Tampoco acumulará para sí mucha plata y oro.”
¡Guardemos nuestros corazones! Proverbios 4:27 dice: “No te apartes ni a la izquierda ni a la derecha; aparta tu pie del mal.”

Que increíble y doloroso es ver que Salomón, el hombre más sabio y poderoso, fue reducido a un simple hombre manipulado por las mujeres equivocadas que amó, que Dios le advirtió a que no tuviera esa práctica de emparentar con mujeres que no eran del pueblo de Dios y con tradiciones paganas. Ni su conocimiento, ni su posición, ni sus riquezas fueron suficientes para que Salomón pudiera cuidar su corazón de la maldad, de desviarse del camino, de guardarse puro para Dios para poder también proteger a su familia y su reino, el reino que heredó de David su padre.
Tu y yo no somos la excepción. ¡Seamos más sabios y entendidos que Salomón! Seamos más astutos y precavidos al cuidar nuestro corazón y saber a quién vamos a amar. Seas soltero o casado, pon tu mirada en el Señor y ama a una mujer sabia y temerosa de Dios. Igualmente, toda mujer debe amar a alguien que ame primeramente a Dios para que así mismo pueda amarla con un corazón sincero, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia.

¿Estoy buscando una persona que realmente ame a Dios primero? ¿Estoy honrando a mi pareja amando de corazón y honrando mi compromiso matrimonial? ¿Estamos buscando y sirviendo a Dios juntos? ¿Estoy siendo un apoyo moral, emocional y espiritual a mi familia?

The cause of Solomon's moral and spiritual decay.

1 Kings 11:1‭-‬10‭:
But King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites— from the nations of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel, “You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart. For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as did his father David. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. And he did likewise for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. So the Lord became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the Lord God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not keep what the Lord had commanded.

What was the cause of the deviation of the wisest man in the world? The cause was loving the wrong people.
Solomon exalted himself too much, and to continue increasing his power and influence over neighboring towns, he fell in love with important women in the region. He didn't really need this but his emotions were playing tricks on him. Solomon was visited by important men and women and many of them became his wives and concubines. They brought their pagan gods and convinced Solomon to build temples to their gods, perverting the land inherited by God and breaking God's law, allowing those women to make abominable sacrifices to their gods. Some of these gods, like Moloch, included the sacrifice of humans, especially children.
This was not new or surprising that it happened, because God Himself had warned since He gave the law to Moses, especially when He gave him the statutes and decrees to follow. In the rules and regulations for the king of Israel, it was written that he should not take many women because he would make them stray from the straight path. Deuteronomy 17:17 says: “Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.”
Let's guard our hearts! Proverbs 4:27 says: “Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.”

How incredible and painful it is to see that Solomon, the wisest and most powerful man, was reduced to a simple man manipulated by the wrong women he loved, that God warned him not to have this practice of intermarrying with women who were not from the people of God and with pagan traditions. Neither his knowledge, nor his position, nor his wealth were enough for Solomon to take care of his heart from evil, from straying from the path, from keeping himself pure for God so that he could also protect his family and his kingdom, the kingdom he inherited from David his father.
You and I are not the exception. Let us be wiser and more understanding than Solomon! Let's be more astute and cautious by taking care of our hearts and knowing who we are going to love. Whether you are a single or married man, set your sights on the Lord and love a wise and God-fearing woman. Likewise, every woman should love someone who loves God first so that he can love her with a sincere heart, just as Christ loved the church.

Am I looking for a person who really loves God first? Am I honoring my partner by loving from the heart and honoring my marriage commitment? Are we seeking and serving God together? Am I being a moral, emotional and spiritual support to my family?
