Directed and written by the legendary Stephen King, "Maximum Overdrive" (1986) is an insane action/comedy/horror/sci-fi movie that stars Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, and Yeardley Smith about a group of people who try to survive in a highway diner when machines start to come alive and become homicidal. But did you know that it's based on Stephen King's 1973 short story "Trucks"?
