In this episode, Dr. Cassandra Vonnes, a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, and member of the GAPNA Communication Team, talks with Dr. Brette Svensson, DNP, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, the Post-Acute Services Medical Director at Wellstar Health System in Marietta, Georgia. A rising star within GAPNA, Dr. Svensson currently serves as chair of the GAPNA Communications and Awards Committees at the national level, as well as the GAPNA Georgia Chapter Conference Planning Committee at the local level.

Dr. Svensson discusses her inspiration to become a gerontological nurse, her experience as one of the first fellows of the GAPNA Leadership Institute, her mentors, and her efforts in spearheading GAPNA’s social media accounts on the GAPNA Communications Committee.

Dr. Cassandra Vonnes, DNP, GNP-BC, APRN, AOCNP, CPHQ, FAHA, is the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Coordinator, Geriatric Oncology, at the Moffitt Cancer Center, in Tampa, FL. She is a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association Communication Team and is a host of the GAPNA Chat podcast series.
