She is a coach and the founder of GrayTonic, where she helps high-performing adults optimize their health, habits, and emotional regulation. Her work focuses on how everyday choices, (especially around stress, sleep, and alcohol), impact clarity, resilience, and long-term well-being. Kari specializes in helping people move out of “gray areas” that quietly hold them back, guiding them toward sustainable change rooted in nervous system safety and self-trust.

13 DIC 2025 · We just had a great interview with Dr. Hannah Shields, the founder of Balance Brain and Body.
She offer's patients a comprehensive and personalized approach to neurological healing.With a background in physical therapy and advanced training in neurorehabilitation, Dr. Shields specializes in identifying the root causes of complex brain-based symptoms and create practical, science-driven solutions to help restore optimal function. The patients that she sees are: experiencing post-concussion symptoms, stroke deficits, vestibular dysfunction, long COVID, autonomic dysregulation, and other neurological challenges.
On top of this amazing work, Dr. Shields has an very inspiring reason WHY she got invovled in this field and started her business. Her 'WHY" is that, Dr. Shields is a Brain Injury survivor! She have been actively involved in research, advocacy, and concussion/TBI awareness since 2013. Driven by both professional expertise and personal experience, Dr. Shields established Balance Brain and Body to harness the principles of neuroplasticity—helping patients improve function, reduce symptoms, and restore quality of life.

20 NOV 2025 · With our second November series, we just had Dr. Jen Fraser in Canada. She is an international expert on abuse cultures, those who resist them, and the way they impact brain function.
Dr. Fraser, is an award-winning educator, and the founder of The Bullied Brain. She advises institutions and governments, and brings neuroscience into conversations about culture, ethics, and leadership. Her mission is clear: to transform systems that normalize manipulation and silence truth-tellers—and to do so with the superpowers of empathy and kindness. She has advocated with two parliamentary committees in Canada for better protection for children from abuse by educators and she has presented before the Senate in Massachusetts who are creating legislation to protect employees from psychological abuse in the workplace. Dr. Fraser was asked to present at the University of Oxford in the largest annual European conference on Health and Trauma in 2024 on her research into how abuse damages brain architecture and function.

28 MAG 2025 · Happy last few day of May! To wrap up the month, we just had a great conversation with NHL Veteran Daniel Carcillo. Daniel played 10 season in the NHL and in 2013 & 2015 he won two Stanley Cup's with the Chicago Blackhawks. In 2019, her world was turned upside down by a brain injury that left her navigating persistent post-concussive symptoms (PPCS). Everyday tasks—making tea, washing clothes, sending emails—became monumental challenges, and Chaandani was left feeling unseen, unheard, and unsupported in a system full of gaps. Through personal growth, self-expression, and time, she began reclaiming life. That journey sparked a mission: to help others avoid the same struggles. Her:Return to Life was born to be ensuring PPCS survivors are equipped, understood, and empowered to rebuild their lives—on their terms.
Now she uses her experience to help Persistent Post-Concussive Symptoms (PPCS) survivors with the tools, insights, and support necessary to reclaim productivity and confidence.
