mostra di piùWe all have our favorite seasons of the year, like Christmas and Easter. For me, it’s Election Season! Just kidding. I doubt anyone finds this season particularly delightful. Despite all the “parties” in this country, we don’t seem to be having much fun together. We have Republican, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, Constitution, Natural Law and more (yes, those are all recognized parties). It’s exhausting! And of all the topics of conversation, political discourse tends to be the most likely to cause strife. But there’s a better way.
As Christians, we’re called to be the hands and feet of Christ. As Christian Americans, we’re called to represent Him in our voting and in whatever level of political involvement He has called us to. This doesn’t mean avoiding conflict, but it does mean handling it in a Christ-like manner. It doesn’t mean avoiding political conversation, but it does mean we should have those conversations in love, pointing to a higher authority and way of living, thus removing personal agendas altogether. As we head into this season of parties, ballots and political conversations, remember this: We trust in God, and our King has already won.
