Interview with Charli Carter-Interview With Charli Carter-Customer of Commercial Center-Longtime Customer & Las Vegas Resident share her Commercial Center Experiences. Moved to Vegas in 1952. As a young couple she and her husband purchased Christmas Trees for $1.99 at VonTobels, Later in years she would get the Best Ham sandwiches at Von Tobels Counter. She remembers it as the hot spot. Across the street There would be a disc jockey across the street that would broadcast from the Roof for Days. She dined at State Street Gianni Russo, Ice Skating Lessons at the Ice Palace, and Husband played Ice Hockey. She attended Repour Institute-Seminars for Self-Confidence at The Carriage Trade Center. She bought her wedding Dress and Wedding hat at great boutique-and still has her Hat & Dress. While attending Las Vegas High School she shared about an amazing soup restaurant-could have been Dinty Moores, The Wharf, or the Soup Ketttle. She says it was sad to see the Center go through hard times. But now she is excited to try all the Restaurants. She has tried several and excited about the changes. She says Perfect Location and she see great things it the future for Commercial Center. She would like to see the County help with Homeless in the area to get help. She says it can become a destination spot once again. Homelessness is a growing problem in Urban and Downtown Areas that needs to be addressed. She says she feels safe, even though there are some homeless in the area.
